New Look For Chris Redfield From Resident Evil & Leon S. Kennedy From Resident Evil 2

Chris Redfield's New Look From Resident Evil (PlayStation) & Leon S. Kennedy's From Resident Evil 2 (Nintendo 64)

Hi!

Resident Evil:

This mod gives a friendly mutton chops beard to Chris, this is just a simple texture edit for his face's texture.

This is for his default costume.

Resident Evil 2:

Just a simple moustache for Leon.

All costumes are been done.

Been tested on scenario A for Leon, but probably will work on B scenario too.

How To Section:

(Nintendo 64):

Install the emulator and have the GLideN64.dll in Plugin folder,

Then go to the emulator - Options - Settings - Plugins and choose GLideN64 Public Release 4.0 [or if a newer version u r using]

Then go to Options - Configure graphics plugin - Texture Enhancement - tick Use texture pack and change the texture locations wherever u want, make a folder named hires_texture and put my mod (Resident Evil II) in there.

Been tested with "Use full transparencies" ticked and everything else unticked.

Restart the emulator and run the game.

It's been tested on Project64 v2.3.2 + GLideN64 Public Release 4.0 plugin version, I don't know if it's going to work with the other versions...

Please note that at some point some of the plugins or specific versions of the certain emulators won't be available anymore, so asking their developers or waiting to be available again could be a solution.

For a better experience:

Run the game so this settings be only for RE2, in Options then Configure Graphics Plugin, GLideN64 settings then Emulation section put Fix black lines between 2D elements to For adjacent 2D elements.

Background rendering mode to (HLE only) to one piece.

And in Options - Settings click on config and RE2 game and put Memory Size on 8mb and check Sync using audio and let the rest be default.

Don't forget to config the controller too.

(PlayStation):

How to (this is a general guide for how to use RetroArch, a copy paste for all of my mods for saving time):

Run RetroArch once then extract and put mednafen_psx_hw_libretro.dll in the cores folder.

Load core the Beetle PSX HW and Load content to load a PlayStation game.

Then in command [above toolbar] choose menu toggle then options then choose the renderer as Hardware (vulkan) click ok, then ok again and quite the RetroArch.

Then go to the options again like before when loaded a game then go down to Track Textures and set it on and ok and ok again and restart.

Go all the way again to options when a game is loaded and set Replace Textures to on.

Then ok and ok again and restart [maybe it's not required]

Put my texture folder in ur game's folder and rename it like this:

Say if ur game's name is Crash Bandicoot, u copy and paste it [exactly like this] and put it before the folder so it becomes like this:

Crash Bandicoot-texture-replacements

Play!

After these steps u can use Import Content to load all ur games without loading core as it will be automatic, or u can use History or other functions too.

Note that u don't need to re-do all of these when u done it once, it will be applied for the other games too.

Also, if the textures didn't load when u loaded save-states, u gotta restart the game without loading the save-states so the textures can show up, enabling/disabling Replace texture in the game may work too.

It's been tested on RetroArch 1.9.1 & one of its cores (Mednafen's Beetle PSX HW) 0.9.44.1 9589ddd version, I don't know if it's going to work with the other versions...

Please note that at some point some of the plugins or specific versions of the certain emulators won't be available anymore, so asking their developers or waiting to be available again could be a solution.

------

Been tested on Resident Evil - Director's Cut Dual Shock Ver. (USA) version.
